Crafters of Faith - September

Hello Everyone!

The Crafters of Faith from SCS are ready to share for the month of September.  You are in for some treats of crafting nature!   Blog links to the group are on the right sidebar.

We have an 'anything goes' theme this month.   I have been running behind in card making as of late.  I have a favorite eight year old that I send a back to school card to each year.  Fittingly for September, I am creating this card with the following scripture in mind:

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

1 Peter 4:10 NKJV

Off to the scrap bin I went.  I pieced together some papers that matched and found a fun felt flower to top it off.  It was a bit of a challenge to photograph this card.  I tried to show the bit of sparkle from the Spica pens used on the image.   Sophie, from Riley & Company, has headed back to school!

Have a great month of October!

Calendar Girls - September

Shut the front door!   My card is done!   I know!!!!  I still have a bunch that is behind, but thought I would try to stay current moving forward.  It's a start!  LOL

Terry, is our great hostess this month.   Her challenge for this SCS group is to create a card using a sketch {check}, a birthday theme {check} and either wet or dry embossing {check}.  Shoot, I had to dig my embossing bin out!  You would think after all of these years I would have something to hold the paper so I do not fry my fingers.  You would think!   Of course I could not get the photo to depict the embossing.  It's the little things....

Well, I am still in my 'use what'cha got' phase.  I went digging through my scrap bin.  I found some floral paper that I have literally had for like over ten years.  I am surprised it was not yellowed! I paired it with a scrap of more recent paper.   I tried to mimic the background of the DP on my card face by rubbing the card on the ink pad.  My card stock is so old, I don't even know the color!  I think it might be Stampin' UP! Bliss Blue.  The sentiment is from an older than dirt Stampin' UP! word set.

Since I was working with relics, I listened to some on Pandora while I crafted.  I had to laugh when this song came on.   Um, why is it that we all know the words to this one?!  I remember my mom listening to this when we were kids and we would run through the house saying we were riding like the wind.  So much for not running in the house!

Please be sure and check out all of the Calendar Girls creations.  Their blog links are on the right side bar.

Have a great day!

Dueling Darlings - August

Yep, another tardy card!   The Dueling Darlings on SCS had a great duel for the month of August.  LJ, was our hostess.   We received an adorable kit with so many fun items.  From papers to gobs of embellishments.   Thank you for the kit, LJ.

The image is from MFT Pure Innocence, Football Player.   I tried to use as many of the embellishments as I could.   I cut the cute banners from the DP.  I only needed to add solid card stock and a number to the jersey.

Just in case you wanted to hear it again 'cause it's kinda catchy....it's that time....I Love my Ducks!

Please be sure and visit the other Dueling Darlings to see their creations.  They have posted some great cards since our August duel.  Their blog links are on the right side bar.

Crafters of Faith - August

You could safely say that I am late with this post!  Ironically, due to my parent's health situation(s) I am so tardy and this challenge was to be about your parents.  Perfect!

The challenge from Barb on SCS, was to create a card that reminded you of your parents.  My parents have always enjoyed working in their yard.  My dad tends to gravitate to his garden and my mom her flowers.  Now my dad does both and my mom has become the master finger pointer!

I found this digital image of poppies in my files and thought I would use it.  I am sorry to say that it was a freebie along the way and I do not have the manufacturer to give credit.  The sentiment is also a digital and is from Create With TLC.

I appreciate all of you who have been thinking of our family and wishing us well.

Oh My Goodness...It's a Post!

Well, not that I have been crafting or anything.  I do have a card to post.  Can you believe it?!  I was downloading pictures from my phone and had this card to file.

I cannot take credit for the design or cutting in fact.   It was created by my friend for our card group.  Our supplies are ready and we color and assemble.

It is a good thing that Halloween cards were done in August, because I do not see any time on the horizon to get them done.   That is a big 'ole check off the list - at least I have one!

Have a great day!
